Zinc Futures Surge on High Demand

Zinc prices rose on the Multi Commodity Exchange due to increased spot demand from consuming industries. The rise is attributed to a widening of positions by participants.
New Delhi, Sep 26 (PTI) Zinc prices on Thursday rose Rs 2.95 to Rs 277 per kilogram in the futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for September delivery traded higher by Rs 2.95 or 1.08 per cent at Rs 277 per kg with a business turnover of 2,857 lots.
Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for September delivery traded higher by Rs 2.95 or 1.08 per cent at Rs 277 per kg with a business turnover of 2,857 lots.
