Zinc Futures Surge on High Demand

Zinc prices rose on the Multi Commodity Exchange due to increased demand from consuming industries. The October contract traded higher by 0.9% at Rs 286.50 per kg.
New Delhi, Oct 4 (PTI) Zinc prices on Friday climbed Rs 2.55 to Rs 286.50 per kilogram in the futures trade amid a pick up in spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for October delivery traded higher Rs 2.55 or 0.9 per cent at Rs 286.50 per kg with a business turnover of 3,361 lots.
Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
