Zinc Futures Surge on High Demand
Zinc prices climbed on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) due to increased demand from consuming industries. The January contract closed at Rs 284.80 per kg, up 0.69%.
New Delhi, Dec 30 (PTI) Zinc prices on Monday rose Rs 1.95 to Rs 284.80 per kilogram in the futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for January delivery traded higher by Rs 1.95 or 0.69 per cent at Rs 284.80 per kg with a business turnover of 3,036 lots.
Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
