Zinc Futures Surge on Strong Demand - PTI

Zinc prices climbed on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) on Friday, fueled by rising spot demand. Market participants increased their positions due to a pick-up in demand from consuming industries.
New Delhi, Jan 19 (PTI) Zinc prices on Friday rose 85 paise to Rs 220.30 per kilogram in the futures trade amid a pick up in spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for January delivery traded higher by 85 paise or 0.39 per cent at Rs 220.30 per kg with a business turnover of 2,360 lots.
Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
