Zinc Futures Surge on Strong Demand

Zinc prices rose on the Multi Commodity Exchange due to increased demand from consuming industries. Futures contracts for November delivery traded higher.
New Delhi, Oct 18 (PTI) Zinc prices on Friday rose 0.78 per cent to Rs 283.10 per kilogram in the futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for November delivery traded Rs 2.20 or 0.78 per cent higher at Rs 283.10 per kg in 917 lots.
Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
