Bioenergy Summit: India's Path to Energy Security

Over 300 industry leaders gather in Delhi for the Bioenergy Summit, focusing on biofuel, biomaterial, and a sustainable energy future for India.
New Delhi, Apr 13 (PTI) Over 300 industry leaders, policymakers, academic specialists, and think tank representatives will participate in the Bioenergy, Biofuel, and Biomaterial Summit to be held here on May 89, 2025.
Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari will inaugurate the summit, said a statement by Indian Biogas Association (IBA).
The summit aims to develop an actionable plan for the Indian bioenergy sector.
The two-day summit will host stakeholders from all over the industry to discuss emerging opportunities, new technologies, and policy frameworks needed to aid in transitioning of India to a self-sufficient energy economy to ensure a clear road map towards the developed nation.
The event is supported by Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
Gaurav Kedia, Chairman of the IBA said: "The government's and industries' support for these events showcases the immediate need for widespread adoption of the sector. We are hopeful that these consultations bring new perspectives and ideas which help in fostering the future course of the industry.
Rohit Dev, Advisor, IBA, said this summit is a noteworthy advancement towards energy security for the nation.
"The policies enabled with the insights from the industry can make bioenergy a mainstream resource. The next phase of India's energy mission requires a blend of innovation and sustainability," he added.
