Celkon Resolute partners with ZTE to manufacture Wi-Fi 6 routers in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, aiming to create a manufacturing hub.
Amaravati, Jun 29 (PTI) Celkon Resolute, an electronics company, has partnered with Chinese ZTE Telecom to manufacture Wi Fi 6 routers at Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh, said a company official on Saturday.

Wi Fi 6 router is an emerging technology which offers faster internet connectivity speeds, greater capacity and reduced latency, which are crucial for applications such as smart traffic management, efficient energy usage, enhanced security systems and others.

"We are extremely happy to be a part of ZTE, a global champion in the field of electronics and IoT (Internet of Things). In the days to come, we would also look at manufacturing other new emerging tech-related products, including those based on IoT and AI technologies at our Tirupati facility," said Celkon Group chairman Y Guru in a press release.

Located at the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC-1) in the temple town, the under construction facility is set to open in August and has the potential to employ up to 1,000 people.

Initially, the facility will be equipped to produce two lakh Wi Fi 6 routers per month, which would be expanded up to five lakh units within three to four months' time, focusing on foreign markets.

Andhra Pradesh IT and Electronics Minister Nara Lokesh said in a release, "While this is just the beginning for ZTE in AP (Andhra Pradesh) with Wi Fi 6 routers manufacturing, we wish to see other verticals from the global ZTE portfolio produced in Andhra Pradesh."

According to Guru, plans are afoot to organise a meeting with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh to develop a strategic plan to make the southern state as an electronics manufacturing powerhouse.

Guru also met Lokesh, who is keen on transforming Andhra Pradesh into a leading electronics manufacturing hub. Their meeting also emphasised on engaging with industry experts to attract more companies to the state, among others.
