Crude oil futures prices rose on Monday due to increased demand in the spot market. WTI crude was down slightly, while Brent crude was up marginally.

New Delhi, Feb 17 (PTI) Crude oil prices on Monday rose by Rs 3 to Rs 6,168 per barrel in futures trade as participants increased their positions following a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for March delivery traded higher by Rs 3 or 0.05 per cent at Rs 6,168 per barrel in 2,408 lots.

Analysts said raising of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in futures trade.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude was trading 0.08 per cent lower at USD 70.68 per barrel while Brent crude was trading marginally higher at USD 74.75 per barrel in New York.
