DB Corp's Q1 net profit fell 31% to Rs 80.84 crore due to lower revenue, despite stable advertising and cost structures. Digital business continues to grow.
New Delhi, Jul 16 (PTI) Media firm DB Corp Ltd on Wednesday reported a 31 per cent decline in consolidated net profit to Rs 80.84 crore for the first quarter ended June 2025, impacted by lower revenue.

The company had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 117.86 crore in the first quarter of the last fiscal, DB Corp Ltd said in a regulatory filing.

Its consolidated revenue from operations in the first quarter stood at Rs 559.45 crore against Rs 589.85 crore a year ago, it added.

Total expenses were higher at Rs 479.63 crore in the first quarter compared to Rs 458.89 crore in the year-ago period.

DB Corp said its board of directors has approved the declaration of an interim dividend of Rs 5 per share of face value of Rs 10 for 2025-26.

"Despite a high base effect from last year's general elections, which had driven a temporary surge in advertising revenues, our core performance remained steady, supported by stable advertising trends, soft newsprint prices, and disciplined cost structures," DB Corp Managing Director Sudhir Agarwal said.

"Our digital business continues to scale rapidly, with monthly active users reaching the 22 million mark this quarter, reinforcing our position as India's leading Indian language news app platform."

The company, which publishes newspapers like Dainik Bhaskar, Divya Bhaskar, Divya Marathi and Saurashtra Samachar, said the growth momentum was maintained in Q1 FY26 on a comparable basis, excluding the election-driven rise in advertising revenue recorded in Q1 FY25.

Advertising revenue in the first quarter was Rs 397.8 crore against Rs 427.7 crore in the same period of the last fiscal. Circulation revenue was Rs 120.3 crore compared to Rs 119.2 crore a year ago, the company said.
