Goa unveils its aviation-tourism vision at the Western Region Civil Aviation Ministers' meet, aiming to create India's first integrated air-sea tourism hub.

Panaji, July 17 (PTI) Goa Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte has said the coastal state not only has the necessary infrastructure but intends to promote aviation and tourism sectors together.
Khaunte was addressing the Western Region Civil Aviation Ministers' Conference held in Mumbai last week. The event was organised under the aegis of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India.
"Goa stands ready not just with infrastructure, but with intent. Aviation and tourism must grow hand in hand, creating jobs, regional integration, and international visibility. We look forward to partnering with the Centre to build a future-ready, inclusive aviation economy," he said.
During the conference, Goa presented a series of targeted proposals to synchronise its thriving tourism sector with the rapidly developing civil aviation landscape.
Union Minister for Civil Aviation Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol along with representatives from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and the Union Territories of Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli were present at the conference.
Khaunte also highlighted the significant impact of flagship initiatives of the Union government such as Dekho Apna Desh and Chalo India, which he said revitalised both domestic and inbound tourism.
Goa proposes to create India's first integrated air-sea tourism hub by leveraging the proximity between Dabolim Airport and the Vasco Cruise Terminal, the minister said.
