Gold Futures Rise: Prices Up Rs 183 in India

Gold prices surged in India on Thursday, climbing Rs 183 to Rs 71,649 per 10 grams on the Multi Commodity Exchange, driven by strong spot demand and speculator activity. Globally, gold futures also rose.
New Delhi, Sep 5 (PTI) Gold prices on Thursday rose Rs 183 to Rs 71,649 per 10 grams in futures trade as speculators created fresh positions on a firm spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold contracts for October delivery traded higher Rs 183 or 0.26 per cent at Rs 71,649 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 15,118 lots.
Fresh positions built up by participants led to a rise in gold prices, analysts said.
Globally, gold futures increased 0.30 per cent to USD 2,533.50 per ounce in New York.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold contracts for October delivery traded higher Rs 183 or 0.26 per cent at Rs 71,649 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 15,118 lots.
Fresh positions built up by participants led to a rise in gold prices, analysts said.
Globally, gold futures increased 0.30 per cent to USD 2,533.50 per ounce in New York.
