Gold futures prices jumped Rs 1,276 to Rs 62,475 per 10 grams in futures trade on Thursday, driven by firm spot demand and speculator activity. Global gold futures also rose.

New Delhi, Dec 14 (PTI) Gold prices on Thursday jumped Rs 1,276 to Rs 62,475 per 10 grams in futures trade as speculators created fresh positions on firm spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold contracts for February delivery traded higher by Rs 1,276 or 2.09 per cent at Rs 62,475 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 14,839 lots.
Fresh positions built up by participants led to a rise in gold prices, analysts said.
Globally, gold futures went up by 2.51 per cent to USD 2,047.40 per ounce in New York.
