Guar Seed Futures Surge on Spot Demand

New Delhi, Oct 14 (PTI) Guar seed prices on Monday rose by Rs 73 to Rs 5,623 per quintal in futures trade after speculators widened their positions amid a firm trend in the spot market.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar seed contracts for November delivery grew by Rs 73 or 1.30 per cent to Rs 5,623 per quintal with an open interest of 48,020 lots.

According to marketmen, speculators raising bets, a firm trend in the spot market and thin supplies from growing belts mainly led to the rise in guar seed prices.
