Silver prices climbed on the MCX due to increased spot demand, with analysts citing positive domestic trends and global gains as key factors.

New Delhi, Feb 27 (PTI) Silver prices on Tuesday rose Rs 95 to Rs 69,525 per kilogram in futures trade as participants widened their bets on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for March delivery increased Rs 95, or 0.14 per cent, to Rs 69,525 per kg in 16,104 lots.

Analysts said the rise in silver prices was mainly due to fresh positions built up by participants on a positive domestic trend.

Globally, silver was trading 0.59 per cent higher at USD 22.87 per ounce in New York.
