Zinc futures prices fell on Monday due to reduced demand from consuming industries, according to analysts. Speculators also reduced their positions, tracking negative signals from the spot market.
New Delhi, Sep 16 (PTI) Zinc prices on Monday fell 0.28 per cent to Rs 268.30 per kilogram in the futures trade as speculators reduced their exposure, tracking negative cues from the spot market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for October delivery traded 75 paise or 0.28 per cent lower at Rs 268.30 per kg in 887 lots.
Analysts said trimming of positions by participants owing to slackened demand from consuming industries in the physical market mainly weighed on zinc prices.
