Zinc futures decline 1.49% to Rs 268.10/kg on MCX due to reduced exposure and weak demand from consuming industries. September delivery down.
New Delhi, Aug 18 (PTI) Zinc prices on Monday fell 1.49 per cent to Rs 268.10 per kilogram in futures trade as speculators reduced their exposure, tracking negative cues from the spot market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for September delivery traded lower by Rs 4.05 or 1.49 per cent at Rs 268.10 per kg in 3,616 lots.
Analysts said the trimming of positions by participants owing to slackened demand from consuming industries in the physical market mainly weighed on zinc prices.
