Zinc Futures Plunge on Weak Demand
Zinc prices fell 0.82% on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) due to reduced demand from consuming industries. Speculators reduced their exposure, taking cues from the spot market.
New Delhi, Apr 22 (PTI) Zinc prices on Monday fell 0.82 per cent to Rs 248.60 per kilogram in the futures trade as speculators reduced their exposure, taking negative cues from the spot market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for April delivery traded lower Rs 2.05 or 0.82 per cent at Rs 248.60 per kg in 1,924 lots.
Analysts said trimming of positions by participants owing to slackened demand from consuming industries in the physical market mainly weighed on zinc prices.
