Zinc prices surged on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) due to increased demand from consuming industries. June contracts closed at Rs 278.95 per kg, up 0.83%.
New Delhi, May 29 (PTI) Zinc prices on Wednesday rose Rs 2.30 to Rs 278.95 per kilogram in the futures trade amid a pick up in spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for June delivery traded higher Rs 2.30 or 0.83 per cent at Rs 278.95 per kg with a business turnover of 3,540 lots.
Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
