Zinc Futures Surge on Strong Demand

Zinc prices rose on the Multi Commodity Exchange due to increased demand from consuming industries. September contracts traded higher at Rs 268.30 per kg.
New Delhi, Aug 29 (PTI) Zinc prices on Thursday rose 95 paise to Rs 268.30 per kilogram in the futures trade amid a pick up in spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for September delivery traded higher 95 paise or 0.36 per cent at Rs 268.30 per kg with a business turnover of 2,189 lots.
Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
