Copper futures fell on the Multi Commodity Exchange on Monday due to muted demand in the domestic market. Analysts attribute the decline to position trimming by speculators.
New Delhi, Jul 8 (PTI) Copper futures on Monday fell 0.38 per cent to Rs 871.95 per kilogram as participants cut their positions amid a muted demand in the domestic market.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for July delivery eased by Rs 3.30 or 0.38 per cent to Rs 871.95 per kg in a business turnover of 6,865 lots.

Analysts said trimming of positions by speculators amid a muted demand in the spot market mainly dragged down copper prices in the futures trade.
