Zinc Futures Rise on Demand

Zinc futures climb on MCX due to increased spot demand. November contracts up 1.03% to Rs 293.50/kg. Marketmen cite widening positions.
New Delhi, Oct 3 (PTI) Zinc prices on Friday rose Rs 3 to Rs 293.50 per kilogram in futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for November delivery traded higher by Rs 3, or 1.03 per cent, to Rs 293.50 per kilogram with a business turnover of 567 lots.
Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries, kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
