Zinc Futures Rise on Demand

Zinc futures climb 1% to Rs 296.95/kg on MCX amid strong spot demand. November contracts see active trading. Marketmen cite increased demand.
New Delhi, Oct 8 (PTI) Zinc prices on Wednesday rose 1 per cent to Rs 296.95 per kilogram in futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for November delivery traded higher by Re 1 or 1 per cent to Rs 296.95 per kilogram with a business turnover of 567 lots.
Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries, kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
