Zinc Futures Rise on Strong Demand

Zinc prices surged on the Multi Commodity Exchange due to increased demand from consuming industries, with December contracts trading higher at Rs 287.20 per kg.
New Delhi, Nov 27 (PTI) Zinc prices on Wednesday rose Rs 3.05 to Rs 287.20 per kilogram in the futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for December delivery traded higher by Rs 3.05 or 1.07 per cent at Rs 287.20 per kg with a business turnover of 3,555 lots.
Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
