Aluminium prices surged 0.45% to Rs 235.60 per kg on the Multi Commodity Exchange, driven by fresh bets from speculators and demand from consuming industries.

New Delhi, May 7 (PTI) Aluminium prices on Tuesday rose 0.45 per cent to Rs 235.60 per kilogram in futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium contracts for May delivery increased Rs 1.05 or 0.45 per cent to Rs 235.60 per kg in a business turnover of 4,058 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by traders amid demand from consuming industries supported aluminium prices in the futures market.
