Copper Futures Surge on Strong Spot Demand

Copper futures prices rose on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) on Friday due to increased spot demand. Analysts attributed the rise to increased trading activity.
New Delhi, Aug 16 (PTI) Copper prices on Friday rose 1.56 per cent to Rs 797.40 per kilogram in the futures market on the back of higher spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for delivery in August traded higher Rs 12.25 or 1.56 per cent at Rs 797.40 per kg in a business turnover of 12,051 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to the raising of bets by participants.
