Zinc Futures Rise on Demand: MCX Trading

Zinc futures climb on MCX due to increased spot demand. October contracts up 0.55% at Rs 281.25/kg. Marketmen cite widening positions.
New Delhi, Sep 22 (PTI) Zinc prices on Monday rose Rs 1.55 to Rs 281.25 per kilogram in futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for October delivery traded higher by Rs 1.55 or 0.55 per cent to Rs 281.25 per kilogram with a business turnover of 2,118 lots.
Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
